JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again summoned the Democrat Party politician, Jemmy Setiawan. Jemmy will be examined as a witness for the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent (PPU), Abdul Gafur Mas'ud (AGM).

The examination was carried out in the investigation of the alleged bribery case related to the activities of the procurement of goods and services as well as licensing in PPU Regency, East Kalimantan (Kaltim) in 2021-2022.

"The investigation was carried out at the Red and White KPK Building on behalf of Jemmy Setiawan," said Acting KPK Spokesman Ali Fikri in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, May 10.

Jemmy, who is Deputy II of the Democratic Party Organization, Cadre and Membership Development Agency (BPOKK), was previously questioned by the KPK on Wednesday, March 30.

The investigative team at that time confirmed Jemmy regarding a meeting with the suspect Abdul Gafur related to the Regional Conference (Musda) of the Regional Executive Committee of the East Kalimantan Democratic Party.

In addition, the investigative team also asked for information from Jemmy regarding his knowledge regarding the alleged flow of funds by the suspect Abdul Gafur to certain parties.

Apart from Jemmy, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday also scheduled an examination of the Chairman of the Election Winning Body (Bappilu) of the Democratic Party Andi Arief, as well as a witness for the suspect Abdul Gafur.

The KPK was supposed to summon Andi Arief on Monday, May 9. However, he did not attend and confirmed his return on Tuesday. So far, the KPK has named six suspects for the alleged corruption case.

The five suspects as recipients of bribes are Abdul Gafur Mas'ud, Acting Regional Secretary of PPU Mulyadi (MI), Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of PPU Regency Edi Hasmoro (EH), Head of Education, Youth and Sports Office of PPU Regency Jusman ( JM), and Nur Afifah Balqis (NAB) from the private sector as the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC.

Meanwhile, a suspect as a bribe giver is Achmad Zuhdi alias Yudi (AZ) from the private sector.
