71.5 Percent Of Homecomers Return To Java Island Via Bakauheni Port

JAKARTA - ASDP Indonesia President Director Ira Puspadewi said that 71.5 percent of homecomers returned to Java via Bakauheni Port, Lampung, on H+7 Lebaran 2022 or Monday 9 May.

"Today, approximately 71.5 percent of the data released this morning have returned to Java," said Ira Puspadewi at Bakauheni Port, Lampung, quoted from Antara, Monday 9 May.

According to him, the peak of the backflow from Sumatra Island to Java Island by sea occurred on Saturday, May 7, evening. A total of 61,961 travelers had departed for Merak Harbor, Banten, at that time.

"We, God willing, have passed the peak of the backflow that occurred last Saturday. And it seems that fewer and fewer people are entering the port," he added.

Ira also expressed her gratitude to the parties who have been involved in helping the smooth flow of Eid, such as the Lampung Regional Police and related agencies who have helped a lot to facilitate these activities.

"The delay system run by the police is enough to help the density or accumulation of vehicles at Bakauheni Port," he said.
