CILEGON - The Cilegon Police Saber Extortion Task Force arrested three people suspected of committing parking extortion in the Anyer Lighthouse area. The three imposed parking rates of IDR 50,000 per car and IDR 20,000 for motorbikes. One of them is the ASN Director General of Hubla Kemenhub RI.

The three people are AP (53 years), MY (43 years), and AA (39 years).

AP has the status of a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) with the position of guard or operator of the Tanjung Priuk Class I District Lighthouse, Director General of Hubla Kemenhub RI.

Meanwhile, MY and AA are parking attendants in the Anyer Lighthouse area.

"That the Anyer Lighthouse area is an asset belonging to the Class I Tanjung Priuk District, the Director General of Hubla, the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, which is opened to the public as a beach tourism destination," said Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Sigit Haryono in Cilegon, Saturday, May 7.

According to the Head of the Cilegon Police, the parking attendant claimed to be a member of the Karang Taruna Bojong Village, Anyer District. They set a tariff of IDR 50,000 for a car and IDR 20,000 per motorbike.

The problem is, every visitor who enters and pays according to the tariff is not given an entrance ticket.

"I also secured Rp1,560,000 from the parking levy deposit," explained Sigit.

"The money collected is used for cleaning operational costs and the rest is divided for personal use," he added.

The Cilegon Police Chief stated that the Cilegon Police would coordinate with the Supervision Inspectorate of the Director General of Hubla.

"Coordination is also carried out with the Serang Regency Tourism Office and Serang Regency DPKAD to ensure the amount of tax that goes to the Regional Treasury from the beach manager," said Cilegon Police Chief AKBP Sigit Haryono.
