One Way When Backflow On The Palimanan Utama-Cikampek Toll Road Will End When Traffic Reduces

JAKARTA - Traffic engineering such as the One way system will be implemented on Thursday, May 5 from 11.00-24.00 WIB. One way starts from the main Palimanan toll gate Km 188, up to Km 72 Cikampek. Then continue with contra flow up to the Jakarta Cikampek Km 47 toll road.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when met in the office said that vehicles going to Bandung and Cikampek were given one-lane relaxation.

"If the density of traffic flows begins to decrease, the implementation of the one-way engineering will be terminated earlier than the existing schedule, but if the density increases beyond the maximum limit, the one-way traffic engineering will be increased from the main Palimanan toll gate km 188 to the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road km. 47 without relaxation and the time has been extended," he explained in an electronic message, Jakarta, Thursday, May 4.

The mechanism prior to the implementation of one way traffic engineering will be sterilization or cleaning, both on the track and the rest area for 2 hours before the implementation of one way traffic engineering at 09.00 WIB. After that, oneway traffic engineering will start at 11.00 WIB.

"The mechanism after the implementation of the one way at 24.00 WIB will be normalized both on the track and at the rest area for 2 hours after the implementation of the oneway at 02.00 WIB. After that the lane will be opened normally," he explained.

This traffic engineering was carried out based on the results of coordination with relevant stakeholders and PT Jasa Marga, that the Cipali toll road cannot accommodate the density of traffic flows on both lanes A and B with a Volume Capacity Ratio (VCR) of 1.19.

"Based on data on the flow of traffic on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 06.00 WIB to 18.00 WIB, which has passed the Cipali toll road section, there is an increasing trend," he explained.

Monitoring through CCTV both at NTMC and PJR Command Center as well as digital maps shows an increase in traffic flow from east to west.

"Based on the observations of members in the field, both from the Central Java Police, West Java Police and the Traffic Traffic Unit, the traffic flow has increased compared to the previous day," he concluded.

The following is the traffic volume data out of Jakarta at the 4 Main Gates, starting from the second Hari Raya to D+1 on May 4, 2022, from 06.00 WIB to 22.00 WIB.

The Cikampek Utama toll gate for the Trans Java direction on the second holiday on May 2, 2022, increased to 49,472 vehicles, an increase of 169.3 percent from the normal 18,370 vehicles. On D+1 on May 4, 2022, there was also an increase of 64.8 percent as many as 33,487 vehicles, from Normal 20,320 vehicles.
