Visitors At Tourist Locations Soar During Eid Holidays, Banjarmasin Police Routinely Hold Patrols

BANJARMASIN - The Banjarmasin Police are increasing patrols in tourist areas during the 2022 Eid holiday to maintain a conducive security situation as the number of visitors increases in the next few days.

"We are here to provide a sense of security among people who are enjoying their holidays through the precision patrol team," said Banjarmasin Police Chief Kombes Sabana A. Martosumito in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Antara, Tuesday, May 3.

Led by Kasat Sabhara Polresta Banjarmasin Kompol I Made Subagya, the team moved to target a number of tourist attractions that were crowded with the public.

One of them is the Siring River Martapura tourist area which has the Proboscis Monkey Statue Mascot Park and the Pandang Tower which are mainstay tours in Banjarmasin with river tours.

Sabana said that the presence of members in addition to security also gave an appeal to visitors to continue to comply with health protocols in accordance with government recommendations.

"Don't let the euphoria of the long Eid holiday forget that we are still in the pandemic period. For that, we must remain disciplined to wear masks," he said.

The police chief also thanked the community for jointly maintaining a conducive climate for the city during Ramadan 1443 Hijriah until the current Eid.

According to him, there were no prominent incidents in the form of criminal acts or social conflicts in the community so that the holy month of Ramadan and the day of the victory of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah felt so cool and peaceful, adding to the enjoyment of the slowing down of COVID-19 cases.

During Operation Ketupat Diamond 2022, which will last until May 9, 2022, the Banjarmasin Police established four security posts in several locations and one service post in front of Duta Mall Banjarmasin, which is the city center as well as the center of the community.
