Residents Asked To Anticipate The Vulnerability Of The Lembang Tourist Route During Rain Holidays

BANDUNG - The Cimahi Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) appealed to the public to anticipate tourist routes in the Lembang area, West Bandung Regency, West Java, during the 2022 Eid holiday.

Kanit Laka Satlantas Cimahi Police Ipda Bayu Subekti said the momentum of the 2022 Eid holiday was accompanied by the rainy season which could increase the potential for disasters, especially the Lembang area has a mountainous geography.

"In the 2022 Eid holiday, the Cimahi Police Traffic Unit will remind the public that it is now the rainy season. Two-wheelers should not push themselves when it rains," Bayu said, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 2.

If you want to continue the journey, he said, motorbike riders are advised not to use a poncho-shaped raincoat because the ends of the raincoat can hang onto the spokes of the motorcycle wheel.

"So if it hangs, it can hook into the fingers and the rider can be prone to falling," he said.

In addition to motorcycles, he appealed to four-wheeled vehicles not to park under large trees or old trees because when heavy rains are accompanied by strong winds, old trees have the potential to fall.

"Four-wheeled vehicles if it rains, don't force yourself, it's better to park first, but don't park under a big tree," he said.

There is also a tourist route in the Lembang area that has the potential for landslides, he said, along Jalan Colonel Masturi. Precisely near the tourist destination of Imah Seniman, and in the Cisarua area, West Bandung.

"Since the night of takbiran, Lembang has started to get crowded, but thank God the traffic is under control and so far there have been no prominent cases of accidents that have caused casualties," he said.

In addition to natural factors, he reminded people who will travel to Lembang on the 2022 Eid al-Fitr holiday to properly prepare the vehicles to be used.
