JAKARTA - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto will take advantage of the Eid moment this year to stay in touch, starting from visiting President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the General Chair of the PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri.

This activity will be carried out after Prabowo performs prayers at the Nurul Wathon Mosque, Garuda Yaksa Pedepokan, Hambalang, Bogor Regency, followed by a limited friendship with his staff.

"He (Prabowo, ed) will continue his trip to Yogyakarta to have a friendly and Eid with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, to continue this afternoon with the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri in Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta," said spokesman Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak in his written statement, Monday, May 1.

In addition, Dahnil said, Prabowo was also scheduled to hold a gathering with other figures, namely the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

"Then we will continue our journey to Surabaya to conduct hospitality and halal bihalal with the Governor of East Java Khofifah," he said.

Previously reported, the government this year allowed Eid prayer activities in mosques or in the field by implementing health protocols.

This is in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Religion Number 8 of 2022.

In addition, the government also allows people to return to their hometowns to stay in touch with their families. This easing was carried out because the number of COVID-19 was under control this year.
