JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is ready to provide excellent service for people celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriyah. PLN has formed a Task Force for Readiness and Reliability of Electricity Supply to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1443 H which is on duty from the 7th day of Eid to the 9th of Eid. PLN also plans to extend this task force until H+14.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that the electricity supply is currently in safe condition. The total generating capacity in Indonesia reaches 64.3 gigawatts (GW), with the total peak load estimated at 30-31 GW during Eid.

To support power plant operations, PLN ensures the primary energy supply of coal, gas, and fuel oil is in a safe condition with operating days (HOP) above 15 days.

"We have prepared primary energy supply. We have checked, and our coal stockpile is currently above 15 HOP. For gas, especially for supply to PLTGU and fuel supply conditions are also above 15 HOP", explained Darmawan, at a press conference in Jakarta, Sunday, May 1st.

Darmawan detailed that the current capacity in Java, Madura, and Bali (Jamali) reached 32 GW. The peak load during Eid is estimated at 19.5 GW.

For the Sumatra and Kalimantan regions, PLN has a capacity of 10.4 GW with a peak Eid load of 7.76 GW. Meanwhile, for the regions of Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Nusa Tenggara (Sulmapana), PLN has also prepared a generator with a capacity of 3.5 GW and a peak load during Eid of around 2.9 GW.

"PLN has also deployed 50,268 personnel in 2,982 standby posts spread across the country, by implementing a picket system for operational officers for 24 hours to maintain the reliability of electricity supply", he said.

To ensure safe electricity supply, PLN not only maximizes power plant operations but also prepares backup supplies by providing 2,550 standby support equipment such as units (Uninterruptible Power Supply) (UPS), generators, and mobile substation units (UGB), mobile transformers to vehicles.

"We ordered everything to be on standby. All equipment, cranes, and mobile transformers are in ready condition. Generators, primary energy readiness are also in a ready condition. All are on standby status. Even if there is a disturbance, we make sure PLN can immediately move quickly", said Darmawan.

In addition to maximizing electricity supply for people at home, to coincide with this year's homecoming moment, PLN has also prepared Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in eight rest areas along the Trans Java Toll Road.

Darmawan assesses that EV owners need not hesitate to bring their electric vehicles to their hometowns because PLN is on standby for all SPKLUs along the Trans Java toll road rest area.

"We have prepared 128 SPKLU throughout Indonesia. However, specifically for the homecoming route, we have prepared SPKLU in rest areas along the Java toll road. From Cikampek to Kertosono and Madiun", said Darmawan.

Darmawan detailed that the eight points were in Rest Area KM 519 A (Solo Ngawi), Rest Area KM 519 B (Ngawi Solo), Rest Area KM 389 B (Batang - Semarang), Rest Area KM 379 A (Semarang - Batang), Rest Area KM 379 A (Semarang - Batang), Area KM 626 B (Kertosono, Madiun), Rest Area KM 207 A (Palikanci, Cirebon), Rest Area 208 B (Palikanci) and Rest Area KM 6 (Jakarta-Cikampek).

Homecomers can also use the SPKLU facilities available at PLN regional offices throughout Java. PLN currently operates more than 126 SPKLU spread across 97 locations in 48 cities throughout Indonesia.

"If travelers want to travel in transit cities around the Trans Java Toll Road, EV travelers can take advantage of the SPKLU available at the PLN unit office", Darmawan added.

People who go home using electric cars can use the electric vehicle feature on PLN Mobile, to find out the location of the SPKLU.

In addition to preparing 2,982 electricity standby posts, PLN also provides 147 homecoming posts in all PLN regional units. Specifically, in Jamali, there are 44 posts. Meanwhile, in Sumatra, Kalimantan, there are 96 posts and in the Sumalpana area, there are 7 posts.

"If travelers need a place to rest, please pull over at our command post. We provide a resting place for travelers", said the PLN president director again.
