Development Of Central Java By Ganjar Is Not Complete, Observer From Esa Unggul: Wonogiri Still Not Getting Attention

JAKARTA - Political communication observer from Esa Unggul University Jamiluddin Ritonga assessed that Governor Ganjar Pranowo in developing Central Java Province for two periods was not comprehensive.

"This means that Ganjar has not been fully developed so far in the Central Java area. The Wonogiri area seems to have received less attention from Ganjar," said Jamiluddin, quoted from Antara, Saturday, April 30.

This is related to the development of the Parangupito, Wonogiri area because people have lived without clean water for decades.

Therefore, he continued, in terms of political communication, the inauguration of access to clean water by the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani, became a strong message for Ganjar in terms of performance.

He reminded Ganjar to immediately conduct an evaluation for the remainder of his term of office.

"Ganjar should do an evaluation in the remaining term of government, which areas have received less attention so far, that's the point," he emphasized.

In addition, Wonogiri is also known for its high poverty problem, while one of the programs of the Jokowi government is alleviating poverty in Indonesia.

"But in reality, we see that Central Java has the highest poverty rate on the island of Java. From that point of view, it seems that Ganjar as a representative of the central government is less focused on overcoming poverty in his region," he explained.

According to him, Ganjar's performance so far has not been able to coordinate mayors and regents in the Central Java region so that development there can be evenly distributed.

"So, even if the region shows success, it is not certain that the results of the governor's work can be concluded. Because after all the governor is coordinating, its operations are at the head of the second level of regents or mayors," he said.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, inaugurated clean water facilities for the people of Paranggupito, Wonogiri. Puan did not think that in Wonogiri there were still areas that had not received clean water for decades.

During the visit, Puan admitted that she heard stories that there were areas in Wonogiri that had not had clean water for decades. In fact, residents only often wash their faces when cleaning themselves.

"I looked up when it was said for decades. Is it true, isn't it? I didn't think it would be difficult for decades to get clean water," said Puan when giving a speech at the inauguration of a clean water faucet in Gendayakan Village, Tuesday, April 26.

The program was initiated after Puan heard that there was an area in Wonogiri that had severe water shortages, so she and the member of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction, Bambang Wuryanto and the Regent of Wonogiri, Joko Sutopo, consulted to find a solution to the problem.
