JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL), Admiral Yudo Margono, said that the Navy warships were ready to support the Lebaran 1443 Hijri homecoming if needed to transport passengers.

"TNI AL warships are ready if needed to help PT Pelabuhan Nasional Indonesia if the fleet they have is not enough to accommodate the surge in the number of homecoming travelers for Eid in 2022," said KSAL at TNI AL Headquarters Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, April 28.

The Indonesian Navy has also prepared LST ships and Landing Platform Dock (LPD) if requested at any time.

According to him, until now the fleet of PT. Pelni is still able to handle the number of passengers traveling back and forth for Eid in 2022, so the Navy only supports its security.

"I have ordered all elements of the Indonesian Navy to help secure the PT Pelni ships carrying passengers, especially for going home," he said.

In addition to providing support for LPD-class ships, the Indonesian Navy is also preparing warships and KAL to patrol the sea lanes used during the 2022 homecoming flow.

Then security support is also projected at the ports where travelers will get on or off the ship.
