Kadensus 88 Appreciates West Sumatra Which Made Hundreds Of NII Members Revocation Of Bai'at Back To NKRI

PADANG - The head of the Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror at the National Police Headquarters Inspector General Marthinus Hukom appreciated the West Sumatra Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) which made hundreds of former members of the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) revoke their allegiance and return to the NKRI.

"I appreciate the Governor of (West Sumatra) who has issued policies in dealing with terrorism, radicalism and intolerance recently, including the support from the West Sumatra Regional Police and their staff and the Regent of Dharmasraya," he said in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 27.

His party was present in this activity not only as law enforcers, but also as part of the nation's children to embrace brothers and sisters who may among them become victims due to their ignorance.

"Today I see the awareness to rise together to protect the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia here. This is the first time we are with such a large number of brothers. The biggest number today was carried out," he said

The government takes an approach to our brothers who do deviations, understand something is wrong. We want to sit together and embrace lovingly," he said

By sitting together, he said, it would certainly be more important than arrests, and more important than law enforcement.

Previously, 391 residents who were previously members of the NII (Islamic State of Indonesia), revoked their allegiance to return to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

"This afternoon's momentum coincides with the holy month of Ramadan, thank you because this momentum is also a forum for friendship, especially the former NII who attended this afternoon," he said.

Dharmasraya Police Chief AKBP Nurhadiansyah said that after the Detachment's arrest of several residents belonging to the NII group on March 26, 2022 in Dharmasraya, other people who were members of the study felt confused.

His party immediately coordinated with all components including Forkopimda, as well as from the Densus 88 Police team to provide understanding to the people who are members of the NII.

"The number of people who took the bai'at today is the result of the investigation by Densus 88 at the National Police Headquarters. Alhamdulillah, today they agreed from the bottom of their hearts to revoke the bai'at," he said.

The Resort Police together with the Dharmasraya Regency government took steps to invite people who were not present today to immediately withdraw their bai'at.

"Inviting our other brothers to immediately withdraw the ba'iat," he said.
