JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared Bogor Regent Ade Yasin was in accordance with applicable regulations. Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri said that the implementation of this activity was also in accordance with the duties of the institution.

"We work according to the principles of implementing the main tasks of the KPK," said Firli in a written statement, Wednesday, April 27.

Firli said the determination of the suspect from the silent operation was also equipped with evidence. This is because the KPK has never named a suspect without sufficient evidence.

"It will never happen that the KPK suspects someone without sufficient evidence. This is the soul, spirit and working principle of the KPK," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK carried out a silent operation and managed to ensnare 12 people, including the Bogor Regent, Ade Yasin. This OTT will be held on Tuesday night, April 26 until this morning, Wednesday, April 27.

Apart from Ade Yasin, the KPK also accompanied a number of members of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) representing West Java as well as ASN and officials at the Bekasi Regency Government.

The anti-corruption commission has not yet explained the construction details in this case. However, this OTT was carried out because it was suspected that there had been bribery related to financial findings in the Bandung Regency Government (Pemkab).

Currently, the KPK has 1x24 hours to examine parties caught OTT. The announcement of the suspect will be made at a press conference.
