3,555 Medan Residents Take The First Free Homecoming Initiated By Bobby Nasution

MEDAN - The people of Medan are enthusiastic about participating in the Medan City Government's free homecoming program launched by the Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution.

A total of 3,555 residents have registered to take part in the program, which is being held for the first time by the Medan City Government. A total of 105 buses, large, medium, and small, have been prepared to take homecomers to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in their hometowns.

This was revealed in the finalization meeting of the Medan City Government's free homecoming program, Tuesday, April 26.

In a meeting chaired by the Regional Secretary Wiriya Alrahman, it was stated that departure tickets for residents who had registered, either in person or online, could be done on Wednesday, April 27 at the Medan Transportation Service Command Post at Merdeka Square starting at 08.00 WIB.

“Before taking tickets, prospective travelers must prove that they have been vaccinated against COVID-19. For those who have not been vaccinated, the Medan City Government through the Health Service has prepared a vaccination post at Merdeka Square," said Wiriya, quoted from a written statement by Public Relations of the Medan City Government.

He said prospective travelers can immediately vaccinate when taking the ticket.

"For those who have had the first dose of vaccine, they must take the second dose of vaccine. Those who have been vaccinated with the second dose must receive a third or booster dose of vaccine," he continued.

Departures are made on three consecutive days from April 29-30 and May 1 at 09.00 WIB on Jalan Pulau Pinang. The release of the Medan City Government Free Homecoming Program bus was immediately carried out by Bobby Nasution.

"Prospective travelers are required to be at the departure location starting at 07.00 WIB," said the Regional Secretary.

There are four homecoming routes served in the Medan Pemko Free Homecoming Program. First, Medan – Rantauprapat – Kota Pinang – Gunungtua – Palas – Sibuhuan.

Second, Medan – Tarutung – Sipirok – Padangsidempuan – Panyabungan – Natal. Third, Medan – Tarutung – Sibolga – Panyabungan. Fourth, Medan – Sidikalang – West Pakpak.

Apart from finalizing the Medan City Government's Free Homecoming Program, this meeting also revealed that the Medan City Government will hold Eid prayers at Merdeka Square.

Meanwhile, to welcome Eid Al-Fitr 1443 H, the Medan City Government held a Takbiran Parade. The Medan City Government Takbiran Parade was held at two points, namely at Merdeka Square and Medan Belawan. Bobby Nasution has also been scheduled to release the Takbiran Parade from Medan Belawan.

“Participants in this Takbiran Parade come from all sub-districts and villages. For Medan Belawan, participants came from six sub-districts, namely Medan Belawan, Labuhan, Marelan, Deli, East, and Helvetia. Meanwhile, in Merdeka Square, they come from 15 other sub-districts," said the Regional Secretary.
