JAKARTA - West Jakarta Metro Police arrested dozens of people who took part in a demonstration against the ratification of the Job Creation Law. 3 of them tested positive for COVID-19.

Their examination results seemed very fast. Because, usually the result of a swab examination to confirm whether someone is infected or not takes several days.

West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Audie Latuheru said the method of examining those who were secured was different from usual. The medical team uses the antigen swab method.

"We use the antigen swab method which results in a few minutes," Audie told reporters, Thursday, October 8.

The police deliberately used the antigen swab method. The goal is to be able to separate people who are infected with the virus from those who are not.

"This is our step to prevent the spread of COVID-19. When the results come out quickly, we can immediately take the next step," he said.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus said there were 27 people suspected of being anarcho who based on medical examinations were declared reactive to COVID-19. They were secured from different territories.

"Of what South Jakarta has secured, there are 15 reactive COVID-19s," Yusri told VOI, Thursday, October 8.

Then, from the Central Jakarta area, there were 10 reactive people. They were arrested when they were about to hold a demonstration at Istrana Negara rejecting the Job Creation Law.

Finally, 2 people suspected of being anarcho members were also declared reactive with COVID-19. They were secured in West Jakarta when they were about to participate in the action on Wednesday, October 7.

"They are known to be reactive to COVID-19 based on the results of the rapid test. Those who are receptive will be isolated," he said.
