8 Fast Boats On The Tanjungpinang-Batam Route To Serve Eid Homecoming

TANJUNGPINANG - As many as eight units of fast boats serve passengers who are going home for Eid from Tanjungpinang City to Batam.

"Ships sail from Tanjungpinang to Batam and vice versa from 07.30 WIB to 17.30 WIB, the same as usual", said the Head of the Riau Islands Province Transportation Service, Junaidi, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 22.

According to him, the ship's sailing schedule during the Eid 1443 Hijri homecoming is not every hour, but every ship is full of passengers. Therefore, the ship can sail more than once an hour if the number of passengers is booming at the Sri Bintan Pura Port.

"There are two shipping companies that serve passengers from Tanjungpinang to Batam and vice versa, namely Baruna and Marina", he said.

Junaidi said other ships at the Sri Bintan Pura Port were also ready to serve passengers to various areas such as Lingga Regency, Natuna, Anambas Islands, Karimun, and several centers entering the Riau Province such as the Long Strait.

The peak of the Eid homecoming flow is estimated to start on April 28, 2022. KSOP Tanjungpinang will build a joint post to secure Lebaran homecoming, as well as improve services to the community.

The joint command post is built in the vehicle parking lot in the port area so that it is easily accessible to travelers.

"We also provide officers to serve passengers who need information", he said.

Meanwhile, Sri Bintan Pura International Port continues to serve passengers to Singapore and Malaysia. Especially for Singapore, the cruise schedule is set every even date starting April 10, 2022.

"The number of passengers is still relatively low, so scheduling is based on even dates", he said.
