Lampung Police Urges Motorists Not To Go Home At Night Because They Are Prone To Thugs And Potholes

BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung Regional Police (Polda) appealed to travelers who use motorbikes not to travel at night.

"For those who use motorbikes, I urge you not to walk at night because they are more at risk of being disturbed, whether it be thuggery or the roads are still full of potholes," said Lampung Police Chief Inspector General Hendro Sugiatno, in Bandarlampung as reported by Antara, Friday, April 22.

The Lampung Regional Police Chief emphasized that his party will carry out security by maximizing the posts and patrol units that have been formed to deal with disturbances in the Kamtibmas for travelers who use arterial roads, especially motorcycles.

"In this year's homecoming security, we have prepared 52 security posts (pospam), 33 service posts (posyan) and one integrated post, with a total of 2,375 police personnel involved," he said.

The Kapolda said he would provide escorts to travelers traveling at night to avoid disturbances to the security and social order.

"I will apply it, if there is a flow of homecoming at night, we will focus on one point, later it will be escorted to the next point. So we are guarding the front and back to avoid disturbances to the public order and security on the road," he said.

The Lampung Regional Police Chief also ordered his staff to take firm action against the perpetrators of theft with violence (curas) or robbers and not to forgive them.

"We must empathize with the brothers who are going home because they have worked hard to earn money to take home to give to their children, wives and even their mothers, so they don't get robbed," he said.
