When Was JIS Inaugurated? M Taufik Suggests To Anies Baswedan, Equalizes With DKI Jakarta's Birthday

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mohamad Taufik, proposed that the inauguration of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) be coupled with the momentum of DKI Jakarta's 495th Anniversary which falls on June 22.

"I see this as a gift for Jakarta," said Deputy Chairman of the DKI DPRD Mohamad Taufik in Jakarta, Friday, April 22.

The Gerindra Party politician added that currently the initial inauguration or soft launching was carried out on Tuesday (19/4) after the final of the 2022 International Youth Championship (IYC) tournament.

"Yesterday, there was only the soft launch for the soccer match. I think it was the beginning of June. Jakarta's birthday present," he continued, quoted from Antara.

Even so, his party left the decision on the inauguration of JIS to the DKI Provincial Government.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said Persija would be the first team to play in JIS and former Indonesian national team player, Bambang Pamungkas, would be the first to kick the ball at the inauguration of JIS.

Even so, the first football team to try JIS grass was Bali United against Atletico Madrid in the IYC tournament on Wednesday (13/4).

Anies said that the capacity for the audience of up to 82,000 people is one of the unique features of JIS, making it the largest stadium capacity in Indonesia.

Apart from the capacity of the audience, other unique features include environmentally friendly building designs, open and closed roofs, no athletic track, and seat designs.

In addition, related to grass, FIFA standard infrastructure, designs with nuances of Betawi local wisdom, entrances and jogging facilities on the roof with a height of 72 meters.

The former Minister of Education and Culture detailed that JIS was designed as an environmentally friendly building with a platinum predicate.

The predicate was obtained based on the results of the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) certification assessment.

He revealed that the stadium has a special installation for water conservation, and the materials used are environmentally friendly and the roof has 1,080 solar panels

In addition, the roof is constructed of steel with a weight of 3,900 tons, the JIS which can be opened and closed is unique so that the stadium can be used for various activities, whether in hot or rainy conditions.
