Criminal Value Below IDR 2.5 Million, NTT Prosecutor's Office Will Process Restorative Justice

NTT - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) said cases with a criminal value of less than Rp. 2.5 million would be processed through a restorative justice (RS) mechanism.

Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT Prosecutor's Office, Abdul said that his party had resolved dozens of cases based on the hospital. This is in accordance with Prosecutor's Regulation No. 15 of 2020 concerning the termination of prosecution based on restorative justice.

"Not all cases are resolved through a restorative justice mechanism, if a crime is committed with the value of evidence or the value of the loss caused by a criminal act of not more than Rp. 2,500,000,00 then it will be resolved through a restorative justice mechanism," said Abdul Hakim when contacted on Friday. April 22.

He said that the last case which was suspended was carried out by the East Flores District Attorney in the case of a criminal act of persecution with the suspect Egenesius Suba Aran.

According to him, the East Flores District Attorney made peace efforts through restorative justice and put forward the values of local wisdom and conscience in the peace process, a facilitator appointed by the East Flores District Attorney, namely Kasi Pidum I Nyoman Sukrawan.

After making peace efforts so that an agreement for peace is realized on April 8, 2022 between the two victims and the suspect, witnessed by local community leaders and investigators as well as the families of the victims and suspects.

Abdul Hakim explained that the suspect and the two victims agreed to the peace process and the peace process offered by the Public Prosecutor or the Facilitator.
