JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is exploring the process of applying for a tower construction permit in North Penajam Paser Regency.
This investigation was carried out in relation to allegations of bribery in the procurement of goods and services as well as permits that ensnared the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Mas'ud.
Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said investigators were studying the process of applying for this permit from the Supervisor of PT Putraalinson Perkasa, Romi Wijaya Syarif. This inspection was carried out on Thursday, April 21 at the Mako Brimob Polda East Kalimantan.

Furthermore, the KPK also examined the Head of the Subsection for the Management of Procurement of Goods and Services at the Regional Secretariat of the PPU Regency, Abdul Halim; The civil servants in the Parang and Services Procurement Subdivision are Agus Purwito and Karsono.
From this examination, investigators investigated Abdul Gafur's intervention every time there was a project auction to win a certain contractor.
"Witnesses were present and further confirmed regarding the alleged continuous direction by the suspect AGM to condition project auction activities in order to win certain contractors," said Ali.
Previously, the KPK named Abdul Gafur as a suspect in receiving bribes related to the procurement of goods and services as well as permits.
Apart from Gafur, the KPK has also appointed the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, Mulyadi; Head of Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of North Penajam Paser Regency Edi Hasmoro; Head of the North Penajam Paser District Education, Youth, and Sports Office, Jusman; and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis as a bribe recipient.
