Purbalingga Regency Government Prepares 9 Tons Of Bulk Oil For Market Operations

PURBALINGGA - The Government of Purbalingga Regency, Central Java has prepared as much as 9 tons of bulk cooking oil for market operations in the local area.

"We will distribute 9 tons of subsidized bulk cooking oil to several places through market operations," said Head of the Purbalingga Industry and Trade Agency (Dinperindag), Johan Arifin in Purbalingga, Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

Johan said the Purbalingga Regency Government was allocated 9 tons of subsidized bulk cooking oil which would be distributed to groups in need. He said the groups in need included household groups, retailers and street vendors (PKL).

Currently, the government has set the highest retail price (HET) for bulk cooking oil at Rp. 14,000 per liter or Rp. 15,500 per kilogram. Meanwhile, market operations are aimed at meeting the availability of cooking oil in the community, which was scarce.

"We also want to ensure to the public that the current stock has been met. Micro-entrepreneurs and other groups do not need to worry or worry because the stock in the market has now been fulfilled," he said.

Purbalingga Regency Government, he said, really hopes that this market operation will be beneficial for community groups in need.

An academic from Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) Purwokerto, Dian Purnomo Jati added, cooking oil market operations can be useful to encourage price stabilization in the market. Besides that, it can also encourage the stabilization of the availability of cooking oil stocks in the market.

The Head of the Laboratory of Sharia Business Economics and Halal Products, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unsoed, added that market operations need to be carried out by the government until the Eid period.

"The goal is to help people get cooking oil in the market at a reasonable price," he said.

However, he reminded that in the long term, other efforts should also be made to ensure the availability of cooking oil and establish a reasonable price in the market.
