The Last 10 Years Baznas ZIS Collection Continues To Grow, Vice President Ma'ruf: Generosity Needs To Be Appreciated

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is grateful that the collection of Zakat, Infaq and Alms (ZIS) by the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) has continued to grow in the last 10 years.

"We are grateful that the collection of ZIS by Baznas in the last 10 years has grown," said the Vice President in his remarks at the Optimization Campaign for the Collection of ZIS and Religious Social Funds, as well as the inauguration of the Baznas Office and the launch of Santripreneur in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

The vice president said that the average ZIS growth was 34 percent per year. This growth shows the high awareness of the community to fulfill ZIS. "This is also a mirror of the generosity and solidarity of the people," he said.

During the Aceh tsunami and earthquake in Yogyakarta, said the Vice President, the Baznas ZIS collection grew drastically by more than 70 percent. The same thing happened at the start of the 2020 pandemic, where ZIS collections spiked.

"This generosity needs to be appreciated," he said.

The Vice President appreciated the efforts of Baznas to continue to oversee the management of zakat with the three A's principles, namely Safe Sharia, Safe Regulations, and Safe NKRI.

He also hopes that the existence of the new Baznas building will further strengthen the spirit of Baznas to spread the seeds of goodness while at the same time improving the welfare of the people.
