JAMBI - Tugboat Bojoma 2906, which was refueling diesel fuel in Batanghari River, Jambi on Tuesday evening, caught fire, causing one person to die and another to suffer burns.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Regional Police, Kombes Mulia Prianto, confirmed the incident that killed a tugboat worker and one other victim was burnt due to the burning of the ship while refueling diesel fuel from a tank car on the riverbank.

"It is true that the incident occurred and currently members are at the location conducting the investigation of the crime scene (TKP) by members of the Jambi Police Ditpolairud investigator," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 19.

Meanwhile, information obtained that the incident occurred at around 15.00 WIB on the outskirts of the Batanghari River, Kunangan Village, Tamanrajo District, Muarojambi Regency.

In the incident, the victim who died was Rahmat Saputra (33), a resident of Medan City, North Sumatra Province. The victim suffered burns named Muhammad Sahid (39), a resident of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands Province.

Rahmad Saputra reportedly died at the scene, while Muhammad Sahid was taken to St Theresia Hospital in Jambi City to receive treatment for burns.

The incident began when TB Bajoma 2906 filled up fuel from the PT PAN tank car using a hose. At that time, the two victims were tasked with charging.

The police are still investigating TB Bojoma 2906 and will be withdrawn to the Jambi Police Ditpolairud Headquarters in the Angsoduo area, Jambi City.
