ACEH TIMUR - East Aceh Resort Police personnel, Aceh, arrested a driver for allegedly transporting and stockpiling subsidized diesel fuel.

East Aceh Police Chief, AKBP Mahmun Hari Sandy Sinurat, accompanied by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Miftahuda Dizha Fezuono, in East Aceh on Tuesday, April 19, said the driver had the initials MY (60), a resident of Meunasah Teungoh Village, Pantee Bidari District, East Aceh Regency.

"MY was secured at his house after there were reports from the public that said the bus he was driving bought diesel oil repeatedly at gas stations in East Aceh", said AKBP Mahmun Hari Sandy Sinurat as quoted by Antara.

From the information from the community, he said, the team immediately investigated the gas station to the place where the subsidized diesel fuel was stockpiled at MY's house.

After an investigation was carried out, they obtained sufficient information and evidence and then arrested the perpetrator MY at his home, he said.

When secured, he said, officers found evidence in the form of two drums and three jerry cans containing 600 liters of subsidized diesel fuel.

Now the perpetrator MY along with the evidence, including a minibus unit with the police number BL 7551 ZA, are secured at the East Aceh Police Headquarters for further investigation.

He said the alleged perpetrator of MY was suspected of violating Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas as amended in paragraph 5 of Article 40 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation.

"The threat is a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion. Investigators are also trying to uncover whether there is a possibility that other parties may be involved", he said.
