647 Joint Apparatus Personnel Alerted To Secure Lebaran Homecoming In Palembang

PALEMBANG - A total of 647 joint officers were prepared to secure the homecoming flow of Eid al-Fitr 1443 H / 2022 AD in Palembang City, South Sumatra.

Hundreds of these officers are members of the Ketupat Musi 2022 Operation team in Palembang. The personnel consisted of personnel from the Polrestabes, Kodim 0418, the Transportation Service, the Civil Service Police Unit and the Health Service.

The Head of Palembang Polrestabes Kombes Mokhamad Ngajib said that each joint apparatus was alerted at as many as 22 homecoming monitoring posts.

The posts were established covering the inner city and border areas, including in the Ampera Bridge area, Ilir Timur I District, the Provincial DPRD Office on Jalan Captain A Rivai, at KM 12 Palembang-Talang Kelapa, Banyuasin and then Keramasan, Palembang-Ogan Ilir.

Then there are service posts that were established at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport Tanjung Api-api, Kertapati Railway Station and the Ministry of Transportation Terminal in Alang-alang Lebar.

"In addition to being on standby at the command post, police personnel will streamline traffic patrols or sweeps to every village so that pre- and post-Eid celebrations remain conducive," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, April 18.

The local government estimates that based on the results of the cross-sectoral coordination meeting at the provincial level, the peak of the homecoming flow will take place on D-2 or April 30, 2022 with a total of 15,945 units of land vehicles passing, including to Palembang City.

Meanwhile, the peak of the backflow is estimated to take place in two waves, namely, on H+2 Eid or May 3 with the number of vehicles reaching 14,286 and the second wave on May 8 with 13,485 vehicles.

The Head of the Traffic Unit of the Palembang Polrestabes, Kompol Rendy S Aditama, said that patrol officers would be alerted every day to ensure that the traffic flow, which was expected to be overcrowded, was smooth.

"The safety of travelers on the highway is the top priority, safely to their destination," he said.

He appealed to the public before traveling to ensure the readiness of the vehicle in advance. Starting from the engine, wheels and others are checked whether they are in prime condition so that the trip is safe and comfortable.
