Defendant In The Case Of Illegal Fuel Who Has Been On The Run For 9 Years Was Arrested By The Jambi Prosecutor's Office

JAMBI - The Jambi High Prosecutor's fugitive arrest team together with the North Sumatra District Attorney arrested the defendant on behalf of Zuliadi Sipayung who was included in the Jambi High Prosecutor's Wanted List (DPO) in the case of Illegal BBM who fled during his trial in court nine years ago.

Reported by Antara, Monday, April 18, Head of the Legal Information Section, Lexy Fatharany said that the success of capturing Sipayung was an achievement in 2022 so that the remaining fugitives who had not been caught were six more, namely Sanggam Parapat, Asril bin Haning, Dadang Saputra, Musashi Pangeran Batara, Joni Rusman, and Zulpikar bin Adnan.

The Jambi High Prosecutor's Office and the Muarojambi District Attorney's team, led by the Jambi High Prosecutor's Intelligence Assistant, Jufri, will take Sipayung from Medan to Jambi which will then be handed over to the court by the prosecutor at the Muarojambi District Attorney.

Zuliadi Sipayung is a defendant in the case of transporting 1,250 liters of refined diesel oil without a permit on April 10, 2013 using a Toyota Kijang car with license plate number BH 1142 LG.

In this case, Zuliadi was caught on Jalan Raya Lintas Simpang Bajubang, Mesong District, Muarojambi Regency, so that the defendant was threatened with a criminal sentence according to Article 53 letter b of Law 22/2001 concerning Oil and Gas with a maximum imprisonment of four years and a maximum fine of Rp. 40 billion.

Before being arrested by the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Team and the Jambi High Prosecutor's Office, Sipayung had already transferred the case files to the Sengeti District Court.

However, when the trial was held, the defendant was not present, so he was declared a fugitive since November 2013 according to the Prosecutor's Appointment Letter Number PRINT-888/N.5.18/Euh.2/10/2013 dated October 18, 2013.
