Six Buildings In North Serpong Burnt Down, Losses Are Estimated At Hundreds Of Millions Of Rupiah

SELATAN TANGERANG- As many as 6 buildings in the Cowshed Village area, North Serpong, South Tangerang were destroyed by fire. It is suspected that the fire was caused by a short circuit in one of the buildings.

Daton of South Tangerang's Alpha Fire Department, Gunawan, said that his party received the report Saturday, April 16, at 08.12 WIB.

"So it was Warteg 1, grocery shop 1, house 1 and rented 3," said Gunawan when confirmed, Sunday, April 17.

The incident began when residents saw a fire coming from one of the buildings. In less than five minutes, the fire quickly grew and spread to the surrounding buildings.

“The fire came from a grocery shop, because there were a lot of flammable materials. The fire quickly grew and spread to surrounding buildings," he explained.

A total of 7 firefighters from South Tangerang were deployed. Gunawan said it took his team two hours to extinguish the fire.

"For two hours or at 21.20 WIB, our team was able to extinguish the fire from the buildings," he said.

Gunawan confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident. However, the loss was estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"There are no fatalities. Losses are estimated at hundreds of millions of rupiah," he said.
