Transjakata Bus Academy Starts Trial, There Are 30 Drivers Participating

JAKARTA - The BUMD of the transportation sector, PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta) conducted a pilot school for the TransJakarta Bus Academy driver. This school was attended by 30 participants in 2022 following the completion of the Special Work Competency Standards (SKK).

Director of Finance and Corporate Planning of PT Transportation Jakarta (TransJakarta), Welfizon Yuza said his party had completed the Special Work Competency Standards (SKK) and developed a syllabus or learning tailored to the needs of drivers.

"In the initial stage, we are trying to 'pilot', it is estimated that there will be 30 drivers who will take part in the new module according to the special SKK that we have compiled," Welfizon said, quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 16.

Welfizon explained that TransJakarta Bus Academy as a special school for drivers who are already working or will be recruited in Transjakarta seeks to improve competence and behavior.

In addition to being committed to improving safety for users, drivers will receive comprehensive basic education.

Drivers in TransJakarta have been certified according to the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI).

However, the competencies obtained from the SKKNI are not sufficient to equip TransJakarta drivers to operate various vehicle units.

Therefore, TransJakarta has developed a module equipped with special competencies according to the Special SKK for drivers at the TransJakarta Bus Academy.

"Special SKK is needed because TransJakarta has many units, some are single, maxi, even angkot for microTrans services. With this special SKK there will be different competencies for drivers in BRT services, feeder buses and microTrans," he said.

TransJakarta projects that the academy for drivers will run at the beginning of the second semester of this year with a new module adapted to the Special SKK.

In the next stage, the BUMD will prepare the TransJakarta Bus Academy as a new business by making it a subsidiary through a spin-off mechanism in 2023.
