99.76 Percent Of Palangka Raya Residents Have Been Injected With Full Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

KALTENG - The full or second dose of COVID-19 vaccination in the Palangka Raya region, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan), has reached 99.76 percent of the target of 223,417 people.

"As of Friday April 1, there were 222,886 people or 99.76 percent of the 223,417 targeted second dose of COVID-19 vaccination," said Palangka Raya Mayor Fairid Naparin in Palangka Raya, quoted from Antara, Friday 15 April.

Meanwhile, he continued, for the achievement of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, there were 260,097 people or 116.42 percent of the target.

Then, the achievement of the third dose of vaccination in the local area was 25.92 percent or 57,912 people had been injected with a booster or "booster" vaccine.

Data from the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force show that 223,417 vaccine targets are divided into five categories, namely health human resources with a target of 3,512 targets, 14,287 elderly targets, 21,920 public services targets, 154,647 targets for the general public and 29,051 youth targets.

Vaccination targets in local cities were also extended to children aged 6-11 years. Fairid, who is also the Head of the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force, invites the public to always apply health protocols, thereby minimizing the potential and preventing the spread of the corona virus.

His party is currently also intensifying the booster dose of COVID-19 vaccination in order to welcome Ramadan 1443 Hijriah.

"We have entered the month of Ramadan. In order to strengthen immunity, we are accelerating vaccinations. So, residents are safe and protected from the threat of the virus in carrying out activities during the fasting month," he said.

He added, regarding the supply of vaccines in the "City of Beauty" area, it is still safe and sufficient for some time to come. If it starts to run out, his party will immediately communicate with the provincial government to increase the supply of vaccines.

Among the strategies for administering vaccines during Ramadan, the Palangka Raya City Government will follow and adapt to the MUI fatwa Number 13 of 2021 regarding the COVID-19 vaccine law while fasting.

He said the administration of the vaccine dose for Muslims was still carried out during the day in order to run effectively.

This effort is a way to protect the public from exposure to and the risk of contracting COVID-19.

Vaccinations are carried out by health centers, hospitals and at service outlets held by various other parties who work together and are directly involved in the program.
