TANGERANG - Head of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office, Tabrani, said that the Banten Provincial Government has designated the Serpong area, precisely in the BSD area of Tangerang Regency, as a special economic area for education. The reason is that several well-known campuses have been established in this area.

"The Governor signed the designation of the Serpong area as an Educational Special Economic Zone (KEK)," Tabrani said after attending the Opening of Monash University Campus Indonesia at the Green Office Building BSD Serpong, Tangerang Regency, reported by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Tabrani stated that he welcomed the presence of Monash University Campus Indonesia in BSD Serpong, Tangerang Regency.

“Later on, after Monash University, other international universities will also attend Serpong. This has also been confirmed by the Sinar Mas Land management," Tabrani said.

According to Tabrani, the establishment of BSD Serpong as an Educational SEZ will further benefit Banten Province. Because there will be many other International Universities that will be present in Banten Province. Currently, in Banten Province there are 92 universities with details of 2 state universities and 90 private universities

With the presence of International Universities in Banten such as Monash University, it makes tuition fees more efficient. Students do not need to go abroad, but simply come to Serpong to study at an International University.

"This is an extraordinary thing, in Banten Province there are international universities such as Monash University," he concluded.

Previously, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Nadiem Makarim said that one of President Jokowi's missions in education, one of which is to want more collaborations between Indonesian educational institutions and global educational institutions. Educational collaboration is one of the strongest bridges in building international relations to build the economy

"Congratulations and success on the opening of Monash University Campus Indonesia," he said.

According to Nadiem, the Monash University Campus Indonesia building reflects the 21st century education model. The campus is quite flexible, fully modular, there are no barriers between study programs, and hybrid learning.
