JAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil held a meeting with the British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins in Jakarta.

The meeting was to follow up on a number of collaborations, one of which was in the field of new and renewable energy.

The meeting which lasted for one hour was an effort to harmonize the visions of both parties regarding the target of cooperation in the field of new and renewable energy.

The Head of the Regional Government and Autonomy Bureau of the West Java Provincial Secretariat, Dodit Ardian Pancapana, explained that the meeting discussed several issues of economic education, the use of new and renewable energy, as well as culture.

"This meeting also discussed several issues discussed including economic education, the use of green energy and culture. Trying to synchronize what has been going well in the UK, then the local wisdom in Indonesia is adjusted to the spirit of the Indonesian locality, especially in West Java, " said Dodit at the British Embassy, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Dodit said that the cooperation could be established because of the foresight of the Governor of West Java in establishing good communication and relations with Great Britain.

"Actually, after a long time, the Governor has a very strong relationship with the United Kingdom. After all, he has some kind of history, including getting one of his informal educational backgrounds from England," said Dodit.

"So things related to the creative economy and so on, the UK is an example," he said.

During the meeting, the Governor of West Java received an invitation to visit the United Kingdom from Owen Jenkins. This, said Dodit, is an effort to explore direct communication with the parties who have worked together.

"Soon, they will be followed up. Some of these activities require some kind of preparation and also direct communication visits with the parties. Therefore, the British Embassy invites the Governor directly, the time will be adjusted to the Governor's priority activities," he said.
