Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Sets Employee Schedule To Prevent Inmates From Escape During Eid Holidays

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights will tighten supervision in order to prevent inmates and detainees (foreigners living in detention centers) during the Lebaran holiday. Especially avoid escaped convicts.

"In accordance with the direction of the Secretary General, we in the ranks of the Central Kalimantan Ministry of Law and Human Rights are also increasingly tightening surveillance both in detention houses, correctional institutions and immigration detention centers (rudenim)," said Head of the Regional Office of the Central Kalimantan Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ilham Djaya, Thursday, April 14, quoted from Antara.

The Ministry of Law and Human Rights will strictly regulate employee work schedules during the leave and Eid holidays.

Not all employees in the ranks of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights can enjoy full holidays during the joint leave and Eid holidays. Officers in several UPT such as detention centers, prisons or rudenim, including those who must remain on duty during the holiday period.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Andap Budhi Revianto reminded his staff not to neglect their duties and obligations during the holiday period so that public services are not neglected.

"I instruct all ranks of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights not to neglect the holiday and joint leave during this Eid. Remember, there are public service obligations that must still be carried out during these times," he said.

Andap reminded that the staff of the Rutan, Lapas and Rudenim should continue to be vigilant in increasing supervision and not neglecting them. This is so that no detainees or detainees escape by taking advantage of the carelessness of the officers.

"Don't let any detainees, inmates, or detainees escape because they take advantage of the carelessness of the guard officers. The leaders must monitor the location of security preparations at the UPT," he said.

He also asked the staff of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to maintain personal safety, such as from the threat of the spread of COVID-19, which has not yet ended.

"Don't forget, stay disciplined in implementing the health procedures even though you've had the second vaccine or even a booster. The rate of transmission of COVID-19 in our Ministry has decreased considerably. Do not let after the Eid holiday, the number of infected will increase again," he said.
