Attention! Workers With A Certain Time Work Agreement Are Still Required To Receive THR

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) ensures that workers with a Specific Time Work Agreement (PKWT) have the right to receive religious holiday allowances (THR) in accordance with statutory regulations.

Coordinator of Wage Norms, Rest Time and Social Security of the Ministry of Manpower, Sri Astuti said, in the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 16 of 2016 it was stated that PKWT workers were entitled to THR, the same as an indefinite time work agreement (PKWTT).

"These are changes for the better, how so that there is no discrimination against workers. In the past, only workers had an employment relationship. Now both PKWT and PKWTT are all entitled to religious holiday allowances," Sri said, Thursday, April 14 quoted from Between.

However, there is a requirement for workers, both PKWT and PKWTT to get THR. He must have worked for 12 months or more, then he is entitled to a THR of one month's wages.

For workers who have a working period of less than 12 months are also entitled to THR, although it is given proportionally with a certain calculation.

This was also confirmed in the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower Number M/1/HK.04/IV/2022 concerning the Implementation of the Granting of Religious THR in 2022 for Workers/Labourers in Companies.

In the circular, the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah ensured that this year's THR must be given in accordance with the laws and regulations and carried out in full.

This is different from the 2020 THR payment, when companies affected by the pandemic are given leeway to provide THR in stages.

The circular also states that this year's religious THR must be paid no later than seven days before religious holidays.

"The provision of THR is in order to help workers prepare for holiday celebrations, so that these workers have good purchasing power in order to prepare for the holiday," said Sri.
