JAKARTA - The Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Budi Setiyadi said the free homecoming quota for Eid 2022 will be increased.

"There is a change for our free homecoming, we have increased the quota, which initially we would have prepared for 350 vehicles, we will prepare 700 vehicles. So with 700 buses, including trucks," said Budi Setiyadi, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.

Budi said that around 21,000 thousand people from the Greater Jakarta area would be transported to a number of areas on the island of Java.

Previously, the Ministry of Transportation had prepared a free homecoming quota of 10,500 passengers.

"Later there will be additions to East Java in Ngawi. The others are Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, Pemalang, Slawi, Tegal, of course, also a free homecoming destination. West Java is also still around Cirebon, Tasik, Garut, and Ciamis," he said.

Budi said, in this free homecoming program, around 2,000 motorbikes will be facilitated to be brought from Jakarta by truck to the homecoming destinations around West Java and Central Java.

This activity is planned to be carried out from 27, 28, and 29 April 2022.
