Police Arrest 8 Underage Boys In Brawl Who Killed 1 Person In Palmerah

JAKARTA - The perpetrator of a brawl that killed a teenager with the initials MD in the North Bambu City area, Palmerah, West Jakarta was finally arrested by the Palmerah Police. In addition to arresting the perpetrators, the police also confiscated evidence of sharp weapons. From the results of the examination, it turned out that 8 of the perpetrators were still minors.

"The perpetrators have the initials J (14), R (14), AN (16), GEF (15), SR (14), NR (14), RR (14) and RF (14). All of them are underage," said Palmerah Police Chief AKP Dodi Abdulrohim told reporters, Wednesday, April 14.

AKP Dodi explained that the perpetrators were arrested shortly after the brawl incident. As a result of the brawl, one victim with the initials MD died. Meanwhile, the two people with the initials A and Z were in critical condition due to stab wounds.

"We arrested eight brawlers that left one person dead in North Bambu City," he said.

AKP Dodi explained that the brawl started when a group of teenagers from North Bambu City (KBU) and South Bambu City (KBS) wanted to wake up sahur in the surrounding area.

However, the perpetrator who was known to be a resident of Jatipulo, Palmerah, then provoked him through social media by challenging the KBU and KBS groups to do a brawl.

"Initially they mocked each other on social media, then not long after the two perpetrators, namely RF (14) and J (14), carrying a sickle type knife immediately attacked," he said.

The victim MD died of a laceration to the chest. Meanwhile, two other people who had received treatment are now improving.

"His condition is now starting to improve," he said.

The police chief said, to account for their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Articles 170 and 358 of the Criminal Code with a threat of imprisonment of more than 7 years.
