BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Provincial Government has imposed sanctions on traders who sell bulk cooking oil above the predetermined Highest Retail Price (HET), which is IDR 14 thousand per liter and IDR 15.5 thousand per kilogram.

The Governor of Bengkulu, Rohidin Mersyah in Bengkulu, Tuesday, April 12, said that the sanctions that will be given to traders who sell not in accordance with the HET are that the government will not redistribute bulk cooking oil.

"Traders must sell bulk cooking oil at the price determined by the government," said Rohidin, quoted by Antara.

In addition, the Bengkulu Province Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) stated that there were indeed many shop owners who sold bulk cooking oil above the HET and no longer put up banners on the availability of bulk cooking oil according to the HET.

Even traders in Panorama Market and Bengkulu City Sunday Market sell bulk cooking oil ranging from IDR 16.000 to IDR 20.000 per kilogram.

"Even before the cooking oil came in, traders had committed to selling bulk cooking oil in accordance with the HET," said Head of the Bengkulu Province Industry and Trade Agency, Yennita Syaiful.

Even with the distributor of PT Indonesia Trading Company (PPI) the traders have signed the fact of integrity on stamp duty.

He regretted the attitude of traders who did not comply with the commitments approved by the government, even though the traders had received a profit of IDR 1 thousand per kilogram or per liter from the sale of the cooking oil.
