BOGOR - The Bogor City Student Task Force arrested 20 students from Sukabumi and Bogor Regency at Bogor Station and Baranangsiang Terminal who were about to take part in student demonstrations in Jakarta today.

The daily chairman of the Bogor City Student Task Force, Muhamad Iqbal, at the location for securing the captured students, namely the Ibnu Hadjar Foundation, Andigha Taruna Education Institute, Jalan Veteran number 46, Central Bogor District, said that on average the students were still innocent.

"On average, district children enter the city, they don't know the way," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, April 11.

Iqbal said that of the 20 people who were arrested, 16 were students and four were actually not school students.

The four of them borrowed school uniforms from their other friends. They are teenage boys from Cisarua District, Bogor Regency.

According to Iqbal, the Student Task Force has received information that the departure of students to Jakarta starts at midnight and dawn, so the data for students who departed at that time could not be known.

Previously, Head of the Bogor City Student Task Force, Wasi Jatmiko Nugroho, on Sunday, appealed to schools to prevent their students from going to Monas Jakarta on Monday.

The appeal for SMA and SMK students not to participate in the demonstration is stated in Circular (SE) No. 1241/PW.04.03-Cadisdik.Wil.II dated April 7, 2022.

The All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) demonstrated simultaneously in a number of cities against the postponement of the 2024 election, the extension of the presidential term, and the rejection of the increase in fuel prices.

Following the student action plan, news circulated that there was an invitation to all high school and high school students to join the demonstration.

However, said Iqbal, the Bogor City Task Force has combed four main points, namely Bogor Station, Cilebut Station, a tunnel under the road or an underpass to Talang, Kedung Badak Village, Tanah Sareal District.

"So our colleagues at the station are waiting for coordination with the station. Like last year, these children are also innocent when asked," he said.

Iqbal said the students were not allowed to just go home, but had to be picked up by the school or their families. "If there is no one to pick us up, we will hand it over to the Bogor City Police," he said.
