JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Main Unit noted that 39,106 customers experienced power outages due to extreme weather that occurred in a number of regencies/cities on Sumbawa Island, Saturday 9 April.

"Extreme weather has caused damage to several PLN networks. It is recorded that six power poles collapsed, eight poles tilted, 10 poles suffered component damage and seven electrical substations were damaged," said General Manager of PLN NTB Regional Main Unit, Sudjarwo, through an official statement quoted by Antara. , Sunday 10 April.

To overcome the impact of the extreme weather, his party immediately moved quickly to make repairs so that the electricity supply immediately returned to normal.

As of Sunday morning, as many as 550 customers located in Madakando Village, Bima City, and Bajo Village, Bima Regency, are still experiencing power outages, because the power poles in the two areas have collapsed and are still in the process of being repaired.

"We have coordinated for the construction of the new pole. Hopefully it can be completed as soon as possible," said Sudjarwo.

He also explained that one of the challenges faced was road access to locations of extreme disturbances.

The location of the disturbance was spread from the work area of the PLN Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Sumbawa to PLN UP3 Bima, starting from Lenangguar, Mpunda, Jatiwangi, Jatibaru, Bajo, Mataiyang and several other locations.

"One of the accesses to a location that is quite extreme is the disturbance in Lenangguar. We dispatched officers from the guard office in Klawis, to assist the normalization process in Lenangguar," said Sudjarwo.

Not only road access, he said, the weather at the location of the disturbance, which is still drizzling, has also hampered the repair process.

Sudjarwo also appealed to the public to remain careful and vigilant, and asked for participation from the community if they knew of the existence of a PLN electricity network that could potentially pose a danger.

"For network conditions that are potentially dangerous, the public can report it through the PLN Mobile application so that we can immediately follow up," he said.
