JAKARTA - The chairman of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, reminded employers to fulfill the rights of holiday allowances (THR) for workers or laborers in accordance with applicable regulations.
“All rights of workers and workers to get THR must be conveyed properly. In accordance with regulations, employers must pay the full THR of their workers no later than 7 days before Eid al-Fitr," said Puan in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, April 10.
The rules for granting religious THR are contained in Government Regulation (PP) Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages and Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 6 of 2016 concerning Religious THR for Workers or Workers in Companies.

However, he explained, in 2022 entrepreneurs must again provide THR according to existing provisions based on a circular issued by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemenaker). Puan reminded that there are sanctions for employers who do not give their workers THR rights.
"The provision of THR is an obligation that must be carried out by employers to workers or laborers. Keep in mind, companies that are late or do not pay THR to their workers according to the rules can get firm witnesses," he said.
Puan said that late giving of THR will harm workers. Especially now that people are allowed to go home after the previous two years they were prohibited from going home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“So, THR must arrive first before workers reach their hometowns. Fulfillment of THR rights will make workers or laborers go home in peace, "said Puan.
