BEM SI Forms A Special Team To Prevent Demonstration At The Palace April 11 Riding

JAKARTA - The All-Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) said it had formed a special team during the demonstration on Monday, April 11. The team was to prevent their actions from being ridiculed by other parties.

"For the action period, we will have a special team to see the movements of the action period," said BEM Media Coordinator SI Luthfi Yufrizal to VOI, Saturday, April 9.

The formation of this team is an anticipatory step for BEM SI. Because, reflecting on other demonstrations, they often end in chaos and clashes with police officers.

In fact, said Lutfi, there were demonstrations that ended in darkness. In which, many people were injured and died. Thus, the main purpose of conveying aspirations was not realized.

"We will secure it so things don't happen that we don't want," said Luthfi.

Regarding the alleged equestrian, Luthfi said that until now there have been several groups that have established communication to join the April 11 demonstrations.

However, BEM SI has not yet made a decision or given an answer to the invitation. The reason is still seeing and considering the invitations from these groups.

"We haven't (decided yet, ed). We from BEM SI look at the goals and demands first," said Luthfi.

For information, BEM SI will hold a demonstration at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Monday, April 11. The action demanded injustice and asked President Jokowi to step down.
