JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has returned a prosecutor with the initials DW to the Attorney General's Office. DW was found guilty of having an affair with a fellow anti-corruption commission employee.

"The information we have received has been presented to the Attorney General's Office," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, in a written statement quoted on Friday, April 8.

After being returned, Ali emphasized that DW was no longer an employee of the KPK. DW has also said goodbye to his fellow prosecutors.

"Yesterday he (DW, ed) also said goodbye to other fellow prosecutors at the KPK," he said.

As previously reported, two KPK employees SK and DW were given ethical sanctions by the KPK Supervisory Board. Both were proven to have an affair.

At the KPK, SK works as an admin while DW is a prosecutor. In an excerpt of the ethics decision of the KPK Council, the investigation of this ethical violation occurred after SK's husband reported it.

Both were found guilty of violating the code of ethics and code of conduct as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph (1) letter n of Supervisory Board Regulation Number 02 of 2020 concerning Enforcement of the KPK Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.

For their actions, both of them were then punished with moderate sanctions in the form of an indirect open apology.

Then, the KPK Supervisory Board also recommended that the staffing officer conduct an examination of the SK and DW so that disciplinary penalties can be imposed.

The chairman of the Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean Council, Indriyanto Seno Adji, and Syamsuddin Haris made this decision on March 7 last.
