JAKARTA - Wang Jixian is a Chinese citizen who lives alone in Odessa, Ukraine. Every day he continues to share videos of his life in Ukraine and honestly speaks about his opposition to the Russian invasion.

Wang Jixian's attitude is indeed the opposite of Beijing's official line. China does not condemn Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. They also refuse to join western countries in imposing sanctions and calling Russia a criminal.

And now, YouTube has suspended Wang Jixian's account after he also received death threats from a Chinese citizen, as quoted from Insider, which reported on Radio Free Asia (RFA), Thursday, April 7.

Almost daily, Wang Jixian, has been sharing videos in which he honestly talks about his opposition to the Russian invasion. The 37-year-old amassed more than 104.000 subscribers.

But he has also experienced repeated online attacks from Chinese nationalists who call him a traitor for not following Beijing's official lines.

YouTube notified Wang that his account was suspended due to a March 28 video that was flagged for "violent content".

According to RFA, the video includes footage of the city with the sound of missiles exploding and air raid sirens sounding. In it, Wang is seen cooking in his kitchen and sharing Ukrainian state and media reports about the war.

"YouTube claims that my account was reported for violent content, which is against the rules, but where is the violence?" Wang's criticism.

According to RFA, the suspension will last for a week. Meanwhile, Wang posted to Twitter and to a separate YouTube channel.

"I am a non-partisan and I have no religious beliefs. I insist that 'people have the right to live' (and that) no one should die in war."
