JAKARTA - The police revealed the motive of the perpetrator, BS carrying out an attempted robbery of the West Java and Banten Bank (BJB) on Jalan Fatmawati Raya Hospital, Cilandak, South Jakarta. Because he is in debt.

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto explained, BS actually works as an HRD at a private bank, even though his income reaches Rp. 60 million.

"So if you look at his income or salary, it is quite large, if I'm not mistaken, IDR 60 million per month. However, because he is in debt, he has a reckless thought to commit a crime," Budhi told reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Wednesday, April 6. .

According to the perpetrator's confession, Budhi said that BS must pay its debts on Friday, April 8th. This forced him to commit the crime.

"So on Friday, the debt is due and the person concerned must pay his debt, (BS) continues to be pursued by the lender," he explained.

The perpetrator had conducted a survey at the scene. In order to determine the target that will be used as a robbery action later.

"The perpetrator did a survey in the morning where in the area there are indeed several banks other than this regional development bank," he said.

After conducting the survey, the perpetrators began their actions on Wednesday, April 5, at 14.30 WIB. However, his action was thwarted by the security officer of Bank BJB, F.

Starting from the perpetrators who came to the crime scene (TKP) using a car. BS entered the BJB Bank and immediately pointed his air softgun.

"It was pointed at the staff as well as at the employees at the bank (BJB) with threats to lie down and to obey what the suspect wanted," he said.

However, one of the bank's security officers, F refused to follow orders from the perpetrators. So BS shoots his gun at F.

"(Besides that, we also found) rope ties. Then there was also a shock device (stun). All of which were carried by the perpetrator in the bag carried by the person concerned," he explained.

For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 365 jo 53 and also the emergency law with a threat of 10 years.
