JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta City Government (Jakpus) held a bazaar for cheap basic necessities in densely populated areas during the month of Ramadan. Goods sold include packaged cooking oil, rice and beef. The activity was carried out so that people in the Central Jakarta area would not have difficulty getting basic needs.

According to Rani (44), a resident of RT 08/05, Kelurahan Mangga Dua Selatan, Sawah Besar, she deliberately came to the bazaar held by the Central Jakarta City Government in Tangguh Jaya Village, Sawah Besar District, because she wanted to find cooking oil.

"Cooking oil is still rare here. I bought two packs of cooking oil," he told VOI, Tuesday, April 5.

Rani said she buys basic needs at the bazaar because the prices are lower, far from traditional market prices.

"It's better to buy here at an affordable price, the difference is much from the market," he said.

Rani hopes that the government will regularly hold cheap basic food bazaars for people in densely populated areas.

"Hopefully, at least once a month (basic groceries), not only in the month of Ramadan. I want it to be sustainable," he said.

As is known, the Central Jakarta City Government held a bazaar for cheap basic necessities in 44 urban villages in Central Jakarta simultaneously during Ramadan. The first bazaar will be held in Tangguh Jaya Village, Sawah Besar, from Monday 4 April to Wednesday 6 April, tomorrow.

Separately, the Mayor of Central Jakarta, Dhany Sukma, said that his party deliberately approached the location of the bazaar for cheap basic necessities in densely populated areas because it was to meet the needs of the lower middle class.

"This is precisely what we are bringing, we are bringing this bazaar closer to densely populated areas that need affordable staples on a daily basis. We hope that residents in the kelurahan will be a priority," said Dhany to VOI.
