BABEL - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force revealed that four of the seven regencies/cities in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands did not experience additional COVID-19 cases.

"Today, Pangkalpinang, Bangka, West Bangka, and South Bangka have zero cases of COVID-19," said Secretary of the Task Force for Handling the COVID-19 of the Babel Archipelago Province, Mikron Antariksa in Pangkalpinang, Tuesday, April 5.

He explained that based on the latest daily COVID-19 case data, the additional 14 cases of people exposed to the coronavirus were spread in Central Bangka 6, Belitung 5, and East Belitung, while four other regencies/cities had zero additional cases.

Meanwhile, 86 people recovered from COVID-19, one patient died, 35 probable cases, and 40 probable deaths.

"We are grateful that the COVID-19 case is getting more and more sloping and it is hoped that the community will continue to improve the progress," he said, as reported by Antara.

He said the addition of the daily COVID-19 cases brought the total number of patients who are still undergoing isolation to 346 people spread across Pangkalpinang 83, Bangka 71, Belitung 79, West Bangka 41, Central Bangka 56, East Belitung 12, and South Bangka 4 patients.

"Currently 274 of the 346 COVID-19 patients are undergoing self-isolation and the rest are being treated at referral hospitals," he said.

He added that there were no COVID-19 patients undergoing quarantine in centralized isolation (isoter), so the availability of beds in the isoter was adequate to accommodate patients with moderate to severe symptoms. "Today there are 943 beds in 80 isoter units with zero COVID-19 patients," he concluded.
