TANGERANG – The Neglasari Police are still investigating the case of onion fraud by a trader at Jatiuwung Market, Tangerang.

The Neglasari Police Chief, Kompol Putra Pratama, explained that previously, his members had arrested one of the fraudsters with the initials M, who had deceived a farmer from Magetan, East Java, with a loss of 850 kilograms of shallots.

Based on the results of the examination of the first suspect, it turned out that M's colleague was in charge of selling onions from the crime.

Putra added that the perpetrator who is still being chased has DPO status (wanted list).

"There is a wanted list (DPO). He is a friend of the suspect. The perpetrator played a role in selling the shallots," said Putra when contacted, Monday, April 4.

The officer claimed to have pocketed the identity of the perpetrator and is still in the pursuit process.

It was previously known that the police arrested one of the market traders in Jatiuwung with the initials M. He was arrested after fleeing 850 kilograms of shallots worth Rp. 21 million.

"The perpetrator (M) was arrested this morning, near the Jatiuwung market, on his rent," said Putra.

When questioned by officers, the suspect admitted that the proceeds from the sale of shallots were made for extravagance, starting from ordering call women and drinking parties.

"He (M) uses it for extravagance. By ordering liquor with a booking order woman (BO)," he said.

For his actions, M was charged with Article 378 in conjunction with Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 15 years in prison.
