DKI Plans To Make JIS A Location For Eid Prayers 1443 Hijri

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) plans to make the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) as one of the locations for Eid 1443 Hijri prayers so that people can enjoy togetherness as well as get to know one of the new icons in the capital city.

"There are various activities with the theme of Ramadan in Jakarta #RayakanKebersamaan. That is one of them," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Mental and Spiritual Education (Dikmental) Bureau, Gunas Mahdianto, as quoted by Antara, Sunday.

However, he did not provide details on whether the Eid prayers will be performed inside the main stadium or outside the main stadium.

In addition to being the location for Eid prayers, the DKI Provincial Government also plans to hold a Takbiran Night Festival at JIS on the eve of Eid.

Previously, the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) mega project had reached 98 percent as of Sunday, March 13.

The two agendas are part of the activities planned by the DKI Provincial Government to welcome Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah.

The DKI Provincial Government already has a number of agendas to welcome Ramadan, namely uploading Ramadan with leaders of Islamic community institutions and organizations on April 1, 2022.

Then, Ramadan ornaments by decorating public spaces, such as logos, banners, special decorations for Ramadan in Jakarta in collaboration with the private sector.

Ramadan-themed ornaments from March 26 to May 1, 2022 and ornaments with the theme of Eid al-Fitr from May 1 to May 14, 2022 in five administrative city areas.

Then, Ramadan Market and Jazz Festival in the form of a bazaar to stimulate MSME economic activity, as well as music and da'wah performances at Banteng Square on April 11-24, 2022.

The next agenda is the Ramadan Market Festival in every kelurahan by serving iftar food and the production of micro and small businesses.

In addition, special religious tourism for Ramadan, involving content creators so that the wider public can feel the existence of Islamic civilization in Jakarta.

Furthermore, Governor Anies Baswedan is scheduled to visit mosques/Islamic boarding schools in a number of locations, up to 30 days of completing the Koran during Ramadan.

Then, share iftar dishes every day at least 50 thousand packs which are distributed to mosques, prayer rooms, TransJakarta bus stops and other public spaces, on April 2-1 May 2022.
