JAKARTA - There is news that the Chairperson of the Advisory Board of DPD Gerindra DKI, Mohamad Taufik, will leave his party. The news came after Taufik was removed from the position of Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

The two parties that Taufik is reportedly starting to look at are Nasdem and PKB. If he really leaves Gerindra, where will Taufik land?

A political observer from Indonesia's Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, sees that both Nasdem and PKB have good prospects for Taufik, who is well-known to many as a politician.

"Both parties are good and prospective. It all depends on M Taufik. Both parties have pluses and minuses. It's just a matter of which one is more comfortable," Ujang said when contacted, Sunday, March 3.

However, Ujang predicts that Taufik will prefer the party led by Muhaimin Iskandar over Surya Paloh.

Considering that PKB is a party that is closely related to the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization. Meanwhile, Taufik also serves as Treasurer of the DKI Jakarta NU Regional Management.

"From a cultural and structural perspective, M. Taufik is closer to PKB. Apart from being part of the NU community, he also currently serves as Treasurer of PWNU Jakarta," he said.

Separately, Mohamad Taufik responded to the news that he would change parties from Gerindra. Taufik conveyed this after learning that he had been removed from the seat of Deputy Chair of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

Taufik said that even though he would no longer serve as deputy chairman of the DKI DPRD, he would still party at Gerindra. However, he did not rule out the possibility to jump to another party.

"Right now, I'm still in Gerindra. If I'm not in Gerindra, then I can think about which one fits our political rhythm. Until now I'm still in Gerindra. Well, we'll just have to wait, take it easy," he said. Taufik on Friday, April 1st.
