JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas forbade officials and state civil apparatus (ASN) in his ministry from holding and attending iftar, sahur, and open houses during Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

This prohibition is stated in Circular Letter Number 08 of 2022 which he signed on 29 March. Yaqut said that officials and ASN at the Ministry of Religion were prohibited from conducting joint iftar to open houses to set an example for implementing health protocols.

"Officials and State Civil Apparatus are prohibited from holding or attending joint iftar, sahur, and/or Eid open houses," Yaqut said in a written statement, Saturday, April 2.
