Prices Of Staples In Depok Are Indeed Rising But Stocks Are Safe, The City Government Asks That No One Buys Too Much

JAKARTA - Deputy Mayor of Depok Imam Budi Hartono guarantees that starting from the beginning of Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, supplies of basic commodities are safe. Imam asked the public not to buy in large quantities.

"The results of monitoring a number of traditional markets have indeed found that several types of commodities have increased in price because before Ramadan every year there is always an increase in prices," said Imam in Depok, West Java, Saturday, April 2.

Based on direct monitoring at Sukatani Market, continued Imam Budi, commodities that experienced an increase in prices included packaged cooking oil of around Rp. 26 thousand to Rp. 27 thousand per liter, beef from Rp. 120 thousand to Rp. 150 thousand per kg. Then, all broiler chickens are Rp. 30 thousand to Rp. 50 thousand per kg.

The Depok City Government will continue to monitor the development of prices for basic necessities every day in all markets during the fasting month. The Deputy Mayor of Depok also appealed to the public to be wise in buying basic needs because the stock is safe.

"We ensure the availability of stock of goods, hopefully the price increase will not occur for too long. Prices are stable and inflation is maintained," he said, quoted from Antara.

Meanwhile, Head of the Economic and Natural Resources Section of the Depok City Secretariat, Adnan Mahyudin, added that the price increases were almost simultaneous in five traditional markets managed by the Depok City Government, namely Pasar Agung, Musi Market, Tugu Market, Kemiri Muka Market, and Cisalak Market.

"We hope that during this month of Ramadan people consume fairly, sell honestly and wisely, shop wisely according to their needs, apply a simple lifestyle. We also invite people to diversify food, both in terms of ingredients and processing methods," said Adnan.
