Police-TNI And Satpol PP Raid Hotels And Lodging In Pamekasan Ahead Of Ramadan

PAMEKASAN - A joint team from elements of the police, TNI and the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol-PP) of the Pamekasan Regency Government, East Java, intensified raids on community diseases to a number of hotels, inns and boarding houses ahead of Ramadan.

"In addition to welcoming Ramadan, this raid is also an effort to create a conducive atmosphere and suppress various types of community diseases," said Head of Operations Section (Head of Ops) of the Pamekasan Police Kompol Wahyudi as quoted by Antara, Friday, April 1.

This joint raid between the police, the TNI and the Satpol-PP of the Pamekasan Regency Government has been held since March 30, 2022 and will last until the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to hotels, inns and boarding houses, this community disease raid also targeted a number of crowded places, such as nightclubs, cafes and shopping centers.

"Cafes and shopping centers were also targeted for raids, because the mission of this activity is not only for public ills, but also to enforce the discipline of health protocols," he said.

He explained that the case of COVID-19 in a number of regions in Indonesia, including in Pamekasan Regency, had recently decreased.

However, vigilance to prevent the spread of disease through disciplined enforcement of health protocols must still be carried out, to anticipate the possibility of a spike in new active cases.

"Therefore, discipline in enforcing health protocols must still be carried out," he said, explaining.

In addition to conducting raids, this joint team also conveyed direct socialization to hotel inn owners and boarding house owners to pay attention to the provisions of religious norms.

Head of Ops, Kompok Wahyudi, explained that Pamekasan Regency is one of the regencies on Madura Island that implements Islamic law through the Islamic Community Development Movement (Gerbang Salam).

"Because Islamic values have become the commitment of the Pamekasan Regency Government in implementing development governance, then all forms of social interaction in society must refer to the provisions of Islamic norms," he said.

"Well, in this holy month of Ramadan, let's support a conducive situation so that Muslim brothers and sisters can carry out worship with wisdom," said Kompol Wahyudi.

Meanwhile, based on the results of the trial for the determination of the beginning of Ramadan, the 1st of Ramadan 1443 Hijri, falls on April 3, 2022.
